It’s World Diabetes day today! I wore my shirt with this site’s logo on it and went to the Endocrinologist! Everything was good. For today’s post because it’s world diabetes day, I’m gonna list off some crazy questions about T1D that I’ve been asked so far :D.
The questions that I constantly get asked
“Does getting shots every day hurt?”
No. It does not hurt at all. In fact, it feels amazing and I love it. OF COURSE IT HURTS!
“Dude, you’re shaking, are you OK? Dude, you’re sweating, are you OK? Dude?”
What I want to say is: “WARNING TO AVOID INJURY, DO NOT SPEAK TO ME WHILE I AM HYPOGLYCEMIC”. But what I do say is “thank you I am fine”.
“What is that red stuff on your finger?”
Oh, that? I didn’t see, it’s red paint. I forgot that I was painting in the middle of class for no reason . IT’S BLOOD.
I just want everybody to remember that there are no dumb questions. If you have any questions, ask below! Or go to the website below for information. Thanks for the support 😀

I have a few questions…
1. Did eating too much junk food give you T1D and can you eat sweets?
2. Will you outgrow your diabetes?
3. Is it scary having T1D?
4. Isn’t it easy to manage?
Thanks for your post and for answering these questions!

1: no, type one is an autoimmune disease that can’t be onset because of diet. Yes I can eat sweets! I just need to take insulin for it like normal 2: no, type one cannot be outgrown. It is chronic 3: yes! It is pretty scary, but you just got to keep living life 4: it depends on what you consider management. If by manage you mean keeping track of everything, it can be tricky at times. And thanks for asking questions!
