This is Just Not My Week…

This was just a shabby week for my blood sugar…

My blood sugar this week

I was hoping that this would be a normal week for my blood sugar, yet my blood had a different idea. My blood sugar has been pretty low. For the past few days my blood sugar has gone low about 3 times per day! One time was during gym after basketball. I felt perfectly fine but I decided to test my blood sugar just in case. I tested in the locker room and my blood sugar was at 62. I grabbed my glucose tablets out of my bag and started to walk out with the rest of the class. Then came the stampede of questions from my peers. “What are those?”

“Is that candy?”

“Do those taste good?”

I got to the nurse and went on with the normal low blood sugar routine as usual.

It was also really scary the other night, as my blood sugar dropped while I was sleeping. Luckily it woke me up and my mom checked on me at just the right time. This was unlike the last time I went low in my sleep. I didn’t wake up from it and had to be woken up by my parents. Low blood sugar during the night is a lot more serious because the diabetic has a lower chance of realizing it. Oh well, this is just one of many bad weeks that I’m going to have. At least it will be a lot easier when my Dexcom arrives soon :).

You got this little dude. Low’s can be super scary – especially if their back to back or you feel like their not moving up…. The good thing is – that you know what a low feels like for you. Good luck with your new Dex I got my new one a few weeks ago and it’s fantastic.
