Today’s Dual Lows

What happens when you combine a Type One Diabetic and exercise? You get low blood sugar!!!

Today’s low blood sugar experience

Today in gym we had the 12 minute run. It’s just like the name implies, we run around the gym for 12 minutes straight. I ate a whole granola bar before gym and I ran the entire twelve minutes. A minute after the run… I felt completely fine! I was so happy, I survived the 12 minute run without going low! And then 5 seconds later I went low, maybe next time.

I got home from school and had a small snack. I made no hesitation to get started on my homework, so I logged into the math website and got started. It took me about 10 minutes to get done filling out the first ratio chart. That wasn’t like me at all… onto question 2. When I was on question 2, I was very grumpy and I just paused in frustration. I was flying through the graph, but I was extremely frustrated. I started to write down the number 5, but then I noticed my 5 was all crooked and jagged looking. Then I figured the root of my frustration and grumpiness, I was low. And thanks to the person who recommended the raspberry glucose tabs! I used those to treat this low and they tasted good and worked good!

At least this will be a lot easier with Dexcom (a device that constantly monitors my blood sugar) 😀

Oh yeah and I dissected a cow eyeball today in science class. Ew.giphy.gif

Try setting regular snack times to see if it would help. Try different snacks to see which one will keep your sugars steady. Glad you liked the glucose tabs.
